Hello! How crazy is it that we are already 3 weeks into 2017. I hope you all had a relaxing break over the holidays.
In a quick reflection of 2016 it was an exciting year for me. After an amazing trip to America, I jumped straight into starting to make Brooke Walker Fine Art a successful business. After 3 Charcoal for Beginners Classes, 2 Intermediate Charcoal Drawing classes and 11 weeks of Guided Drawing Sessions, it was definitely a busy teaching year! I thank all of you who attended and made the classes such an enjoyable success. I have another Charcoal Drawing for Beginners workshop starting up on the 8th of FEB 2017 so if you know anyone that would like to join please pass on my details. I also launched my Wild Hues Collection of bight, affordable animal prints to brighten any home. These were well received at the 2 Gathered. Markets I attended. These will be available for purchase through my NEW ONLINE SHOP! I’m super excited to have everything together in one website. Hopefully it will be launched in the next couple of weeks for stay tuned for that bundle of excitement.
2016 was also a great year for commission works. As you know I’ve always donated to Wildlife Conservation groups with my wildlife drawings. I recently decided to also donate 10% of the commission price to a local pet rescue organisation. This year I’ve chosen to support Tiny Tails. Tiny Tails Rescue Adelaide Incorporated is a not for profit rescue run by dedicated volunteers helping rescue unwanted dogs & cats and giving them a second chance.
In 2017 looking forward I am excited to be working towards my next solo exhibition which will be ready to go later in the year (fingers crossed). I have been brushing up on my oil painting skills to add a new dimension to my artistic expression – sometimes it’s nice to add a bit of colour.
I’m excited to see what this year has in store for Brooke Walker Fine Art and I hope you all enjoy the journey, bumps and all, as much as I do!
